The practices at Suomi-piste service points may differ depending on the authority and location. Before your visit, please check whether you need an appointment or whether the matter can be taken care of without one. For some authorities, both options are available.
In addition to the authorities’ customer services, some Suomi-piste service points provide general service guidance on public services. Service advisors are available to help all customers visiting a Suomi-piste.
Good to know:
Suomi-piste service points have customer computers that customers can use independently. You can also print and scan documents related to your matter. At most Suomi-piste service points, service advisors can provide digital support to help you use the e-services.
Some authorities also provide services remotely by video link.
You can submit documents for different authorities.
Some Suomi-piste service points include a larger meeting centre, and certain authorities meet cus-tomers or stakeholders at these meeting centres. If you are expected to visit a meeting centre, the authority serving you will inform you of this in advance.

Visiting with or without an appointment
-
Check the authority's service channels to see whether you need an appointment. Also check the service hours for matters handled without an appointment. Book an appointment if need-ed and read the authority-specific instructions.
-
When you arrive and know which authority you are visiting, take a queue number from the queue machine. The machine will give you instructions on where to wait.
-
Follow the queue status on the screen. You will be called by your queue number.
-
When your number is called, go to the service room.
-
When you leave, you may give feedback if you wish. You may also go to the self-service area or wait for your next appointment.
Using general service guidance
-
Check on the Suomi-piste’s website to see whether general service guidance and digital support are available at your location.
-
When you arrive at the Suomi-piste, a service advisor will greet you. Tell them what you need help with.
-
The service advisor will help you at the service advisor's desk or, if needed, guide you to a more private space or to the self-service area.
-
Please note: service advisors can help with general questions but cannot comment on deci-sions, handle administrative matters, or fill in applications on your behalf.
-
If needed, the service advisor will help you take a queue number or book an appointment with the correct authority.
-
When you leave, you may give feedback if you wish.
Using the self-service area
-
Before your visit, you can check the location of the self-service area on the Suomi-piste floor map.
-
When you arrive, you can confirm the location from the map near the entrance.
-
Go to the self-service area. You can use a customer computer to take care of your matters and print or scan documents.
-
Paper forms and other materials are also available in this area.
-
If you need help, you can ask a service advisor.
-
When you leave, you may give feedback if you wish.
Submitting a document
-
Before your visit, please check the authority’s instructions on its website or in the instructions you have received.
-
You can submit your documents in an envelope using the return box located inside the Suomi-piste. Make sure your contact details are on the document, and on the envelope write the name of the authority the document is intended for. In Suomi-piste service points where a service advisor is present, you may also give your documents to a service advisor. If your document has a statutory deadline, it must be given to a service advisor or placed in the return box by 4.15 p.m. at the latest, which is when the box is emptied, on the deadline date.
If you are required to submit the document in person to an authority expert, please take a queue number or book an appointment with the correct authority. Please make sure you take note of any applicable deadline for submitting the document.
You may also scan your paper document in the service point’s self-service area and process it on a customer computer using the authority's e-services.
You can always ask a service advisor for more information about submitting a document. Please check in advance whether a service advisor is available at your Suomi-piste.
