Suomi-piste serves customers who need to deal with the authorities on the spot. You can do your business electronically at any time on the authorities’ own online services. At the Suomi-piste, you can deal with the authorities’ own experts, either by appointment or without an appointment, depending on the authority. The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with an opening button.
Arriving
The Suomi-piste of Joensuu is located at Kauppakatu 40, 80100 Joensuu. The long building is situated between Kauppakatu and Torikatu, and it is bordered by Pohjoiskatu in the north and Sairaalakatu in the south. The entrance is located on Kauppakatu towards the middle of the building. The nearest bus stops are located on Torikatu behind the building. Drop-off and pick-up traffic stops on the side of the street. Parking spaces are located along Kauppakatu. There is one accessible parking space in front of the entrance. There are a few steps in front of the entrance and a ramp is also available. The doors open automatically when the button opening them is pressed. One return box is located outdoors on the wall to the right of the entrance, approximately 3 metres from the doors.
Indoor facilities
The entrance leads to an entrance hall, where lobby services are located directly opposite the entrance, about four meters away. The lobby service desk has an induction loop. When looking from the entrance, there is a self-registration and queue ticket machine at 10 o’clock about three meters away. From the entrance, there is a narrow corridor leading straight ahead from the right side of the lobby services and turning to the right after a few metres. Around the corner, there are two toilets opposite each other. The toilet on the left is an accessible toilet, which also has a baby changing station.
From the lobby service, a lobby area or a wide corridor about 60 metres long and parallel to Kauppakatu runs directly to the left. There is a marriage ceremony room at the end of the corridor. The other services of the Suomi-piste are situated between the vestibule and the marriage ceremony room.
When you leave the lobby and start to walk along the corridor, there is a waiting area with groups of seats in the middle where the corridor begins. There are five service rooms on the left side of the corridor, and a paper forms point and a return box on the right near the customer service point. Immediately after the paper forms point, there is a self-service area with customer computers, and one service room after them. After this room, the corridor or lobby area becomes slightly narrower, and here, two gender-neutral toilets are located on the right side of the corridor. The one on the left is an accessible toilet.
A few metres after the toilets, there are service rooms on both sides of the corridor. There are three rooms on the right and five on the left. After the rooms on the right, the corridor expands and becomes a waiting area, from where there is a door to the marriage ceremony room, which also has an accessible toilet.
