The joint remote service of Suomi-piste will be trialled in three locations between 1 September 2025 and 27 February 2026: Imatra, Nurmes and Porvoo.
In the remote service, you manage your affairs and communicate with the authorities safely via a video connection. In the remote service trial, you can receive advice and manage your matters with the Tax Administration, Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. The police are also involved in the trial at Imatra.
You can book an appointment for a remote service in advance. You can also use the service by coming directly at a remote service point and seeing if there happen to be appointments available at that moment.

Questions and answers about remote service trial
In the new joint remote service, you can manage your affairs and communicate with the authorities safely via a video connection. The authorities’ joint remote service is now being trialled in three locations. It will be part of the services provided by the service points of Suomi-piste in the future. Suomi-piste service points bring general government services together into joint service points. The authorities already have their own services, but Suomi-piste brings different authorities together.
Through the remote service, you can receive advice and manage matters with the Tax Administration, Kela and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. In Imatra, the Southeast Finland Police Department also serves in matters related to filing police reports and hearing driving ban matters.
The remote service points are open on weekdays. They can be found in the same premises as the municipal customer service point, city hall or library. Before the visit, you should check the opening hours, address and services of the remote service point closest to you on the Suomi-piste.fi website.
Service advisors will help you with using the remote service. Your actual matter can only be handled by the authority with whom you can communicate via a video connection in the remote service.
For all those who prefer making a personal visit to manage their affairs. Or for those who do not have the skills or equipment to use digital services independently.
You can manage your own affairs with the authorities safely via a video connection. You can get support for managing your affairs from a service advisor. In addition, the remote service enables the provision of a uniform range of services in localities that do not otherwise provide similar on-site services.
Using the remote service and the authorities’ advisory services are free of charge. Some service situations may involve fees.
You can provide feedback when visiting a remote service point via the device used for the remote service, as text message feedback or by responding to a customer survey on a paper or electronic form.
The localities were selected due to their good location, the needs expressed by the authorities, functional facilities available for the purpose in the localities in question and the opportunities for cooperation in their customer service.
